To the rear of Granton House is our secluded and part walled garden, with its ancient apple and pear trees and uninterrupted views of Coppet Hill. There is a long herbaceous border, cut flower garden and large vegetable patch. If you arrive at 4-4.30pm during the summer months, enjoy tea on either the covered patio or the open terrace, next to the large wildlife pond. Buzzards may often be seen soaring, high in the sky above and Peregrine falcons, which nest at nearby Yat Rock, are also frequent visitors in the valley. The local area has been designated as one of the nation's most treasured and unspoilt landscapes and is noted for it's spectacular scenery, spring flowers, butterflies and vivid autumn colours. |

The terrace next to the wildlife pond where swifts and swallows dip to drink on a summer's evening. There are also frogs, newts, pond-skaters and water snails as well as many
different types of dragonflies and damselflies that hover over the water. |
